Business Address: 960 McMaster Way, Kamloops, BC V2C 6K2 Work Location: Same as above and various locations throughout British Columbia depending on the projects site. Type of Employment: Full Time – Seasonal / 169-day contract Estimated Start Date: Mid-April 2024 Job Description: Load, unload and transport (drive) construction materials among different locations throughout British Columbia Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades Mix, pour and spread materials Assist heavy equipment operators Pave and rake asphalt Assist in demolishing concrete structures/constructions Clean and pile salvaged materials Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites Take direction from supervisors to perform various labour tasks (i.e. perform setup and cleanup, jackhammering, pressure washing, pouring concrete) Requirements: -Education: Not required. -Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided. - A valid driver’s license is required. -Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Overtime. -Personal Suitability: Initiative, Accurate, Judgment, Efficient interpersonal skills, Team player, Organized -Work site environment: Outdoors, At heights, Dusty, Hot, Cold -Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) -Language: Basic level of English is required. Salary: As per collective agreement, $20.00 per hour, 30 – 57 hours per week. Benefits: Benefit plan that includes: Fixed amount for death benefit fund, fixed amount for boot allowance upon completion of the probationary period. Extended Health Care (effective after 300 hours of work), Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Transportation to and from work sites provided by employer, and motel accommodation is provided by the employer, at no cost, when the workers have to work in different locations. Learning/training paid by employer. Specialized Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and uniforms are provided (except for steel-toe boots). Living out allowance when workers are out of Kamloop, BC is provided. Vehicle provided by the employer for work-related matters. Important information: The typical schedule during projects includes 9.5 hours of work per day, 6 days a week. The regular work schedule will be from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (including a lunch break of 30 unpaid minutes and 2 paid coffee breaks of 15 minutes each). Flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier and other finish later based on the business needs. Some night shifts may be required. Weekend work and overtime is required. **We guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of the weather.
