Work Locations: 40-10551 Shellbridge Way Richmond BC Canada V6X 2W9 Work Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: $50 per hour and $42 under probation Job Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in all areas of local and wide area networks management and administration. • Experience developing for cloud-based/SaaS solutions. • DevOps experience/mindset involving CI/CD, reliability, scale, monitoring, and live site culture. • Experience developing client-server and distributed applications. • Excellent command of Java and related technologies in the areas of web services, build, and test. • A solid foundation in computer science, with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded programming, and software design. • Strong object-oriented design skills. • Understanding of system architecture, including processors, storage and networking is highly desirable. • Proficiency in developing for Linux environments. • Knowledge of Kubernetes and containers. • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Driven, self-motivated individual. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience Job duties are list below: • Plan, design, and maintain data networks and servers; administer day-to-day operation of networks and servers; • Plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems • prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects; ability to learn new software and hardware packages; • adapt to changes in technology; work independently and as a team member; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all those contacted during the course of work • Review and evaluate all output to ensure that all work adheres to standards and best practices while maintaining a high degree of quality. • Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects • Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving • Installs, configures, and maintains physical and virtual computer servers, assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support • Researches and recommends network and server hardware and software • Installs, designs, configures, and maintains system hardware and software on server and workstation platforms • Assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support • Recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services • Keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements • Performs scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and intranet user support, and specialized training. • Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts • Provides e-mail training and software support • Provides e-mail documentation as needed • Configure manage and troubleshoots anti-spam and anti-virus servers or services • Researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network configurations • Establishes and maintains user VPN accounts, Provides VPN support including end-user setup, problem solving • Establishes and maintains access accounts • Provides possible solutions to customer identified problems. • Configures and maintains DNS/DNSSEC systems. • Manages IPV4 and IPV6 usage and plans for growth • Configures, troubleshoots and maintains OS platforms to include Windows Server 2003 windows server 2008 Windows 7 • Configures, troubleshoots and maintains Windows IIS 6.0 and 7.5 • Configures, troubleshoots and maintains SMTP Services on Web-servers • Establishes and monitors Database Maintenance tasks. • Any other duties as assigned by general manager. | |
