Nook Restaurant is a neighbourhood Italian restaurant that serves antipasto, housemade pasta and pizza, and great wine from small vineyards. One of our locations, Nook Kitsilano is now hiring experienced Cook positions. Employer: Nook Kits Limited Partnership (o/a Nook Restaurant) Position: Cook Vacancies: 2 Job Duties: - Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment. - Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.) - Cook completes various foods according to our recipe. - Check food while cooking to stir/or turn. - Check the quality of ingredients. - Order or receive food supplies after selecting the best qualities. - Ensure all food meets food safety and quality standards. - Work with specialized equipment such as deep-fryer and grill etc. - Clean kitchen and work area. - May schedule and/or train kitchen helpers. - Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. Requirement: - Completion of secondary school. - 2+ years of cooking experience required. - Good communication skills. Wage: $17.62 - $21.00 per hour Work Hours: 30~40 hours a week.
