Type of Employment: Full time - Seasonal (8 months) Anticipated Start Date: Early May 2024 Job Duties: Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities Assist in aligning pipes Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel Remove rubble and other debris at work sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment Oil and grease hoists and similar equipment Perform miscellaneous labouring activities to help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed. Locate and string tiles Make tile connections Connect pipes May assist in excavating Requirements Education: Not required. Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided. Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Overtime required Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Personal suitability: Flexibility, Team player, Reliability, Judgement Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Underground, Dusty, Hot, Cold Language: Basic level of English is required. Salary: $23.00 hourly, 30 - 55 hours per week. Benefits: Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Accommodation available at a discounted rate. Boots and gloves provided by the employer. Transportation among work locations is provided. Important Information: Work schedule is from Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm (It includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch). However, flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier and/or finish later. Weekend work, overtime, as well as, work during holidays will be required based on the business needs. During the winter season shifts may vary depending on weather conditions. However, we guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week during winter.
