Business Address: 16126 Stony Plain Road NW, Edmonton, AB T5P 4A2 Work Location: Same as above and our other 7 shops: - 6316 104 St., Edmonton, AB T6H 2K9 - 13038 97 St., Edmonton, AB T5E 4C6 - 3408 99 St., Edmonton, AB T6E 5X5 - 13010 50 St., Edmonton, AB T5A 0B3 - 34 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB T8N 1G3 - 120 Wye Road, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 6P2 - 7120 82 Ave., Edmonton, AB T6B 0G1 Type of Employment: Full Time– Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, tune ups, mount and balance tires, wheel alignments Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit Test and adjust repairs to specifications Complete reports to record problems and work performed Coach and instruct apprentices Provide customer service Requirements: Education: Completion of secondary school is required. Experience: Completion of over six years of work experience and industry courses in automotive technology is required to be eligible for trade certification. A valid driver’s license (class 5) is required for vehicle testing and driving. Experience in diagnose and repair of passenger cars, SUV’s and light trucks is required. Experience with scan tools, hand tools, and automotive repair procedures is required. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity, Standing for extended periods, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Work site environment: Dusty, Dirty, Noisy. Language: English is required. Salary: Flate rate is $40.00 per hour, after obtaining trade certificate the flat rate is $50.00 per hour, 43 hours per week Benefits: 100% medical and dental health spending account is provided. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Important information: Flexibility on schedule is required. Our business operating hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The worker will be required to work 9 hours per day, 4 days during weekdays (Monday to Friday); and 7 hours on weekends (Saturday). Overtime may be required based on the business’ needs.
