All About Weight | |
Excess accumulation of fat tissues beyond the limitation of the skeletal and muscular requirement is termed as obesity. As a child grows to adolescence and adulthood, there must be a steady increase in the weight in proportion with not only the height tables, which are found to be based on average weight of normal persons of around 24-25 years of age, but also with height. But some people do not put on weight but merely become obese. At first, their weight seems to be absolutely normal and constant for nearly 15 to 20 years. But if there is a significant change in their activities where their muscles are exercised to a lesser degree, the muscles do degenerate or get displaced by fat. After some time, the muscle degeneration slows down. But fat does not displace the muscles to keep the weight constant. Instead, it gets deposited outside the muscles under the skin making one obese as well as overweight. | |
