Job Title: Apprentice Cabinetmaker Location: 609 Alpha St, Victoria, BC V8Z 1B5 Salary: $24.50 hourly / 36 hours per week Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time Start Date: Starts as soon as possible Vacancies: 1 Overview: We at Colonial Countertops are seeking a skilled Apprentice Cabinetmaker to join our team in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate will have some experience in woodworking, furniture finishing, and a keen eye for detail. As an apprentice, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and aesthetic appeal of our finished products. Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 1 to less 2 years Responsibilities: • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products • Cut fill strips, glue, and staple fills • Cap edges • Make and install side splashes • Communicate with production team members about potential complications • Maintain and organize the work environment in the production area • Work in a safe manner that complies with all safety guidelines If you are a motivated individual with a passion for woodworking and furniture finishing, we encourage you to apply.
