Access Scaffold & Ladder Depot Ltd is currently looking to hire carpenters to work in the Lower Mainland of BC on a full-time basis. Job Description: Overall, a scaffold hoarding carpenter plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of workers and the public during construction projects. Carpenters will be responsible for designing, constructing, and installing temporary structures that enclose scaffolds to prevent debris or objects from falling onto the public area during construction or renovation projects. Working on commercial sites predominately doing hoarding, decks, ramps, hoist gates, guard rails and framing. Design and Planning: • Interpret construction plans and drawings to plan the scaffold hoarding structure that will surround the scaffolding. • Determine the materials needed for the project and the layout of the structure. Construction: • Assemble and install hoarding structure in accordance with construction plans and safety regulations. • Building engineered scaffold structures and build engineered scaffold wooden structures. • Construct wooden frames, attach hoarding boards, and secure the hoarding to the scaffolding. • Ensure that the hoarding is safe and secure for both the workers and the public. Maintenance: • Inspect the hoarding structure regularly to ensure it remains safe and secure. • Make repairs as needed and ensure that the hoarding remains in compliance with safety regulations. Communication: • Work with other tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers to ensure the hoarding structure is built according to project specifications and timelines. Safety: • Follow safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the safety of all workers and the public in the vicinity of the construction project. Requirements for this position: • A carpentry apprenticeship or a minimum of at least 2 years in similar carpentry role within the scaffolding industry (preferred) • Knowledge of construction and safety regulations • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions year-round. • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy materials • Good communication and teamwork skills Positions available: 2 Term: Full time & permanent Salary: We offer competitive rates for the right candidates $30 - $42 per hour Hours of work: 40 hours/week –Early morning, Morning, some evenings, Some weekends Benefits: Extended medical dental & vision Job location: Work will be within the lower mainland area.
