In July 1970, the Doorways, Inc. was established at a modest facility located on Dedeaux Road. With the help of its devoted clientele and diligent experts, the business expanded from its modest beginnings. Don Ishee and Neil Stallings, the owner's son, were two of those technicians. Neil and Don started Doorways in Gulfport's downtown in the middle of the 1980s. After successfully expanding their own clientele, the two went back to Dedeaux Road in the early 1990s to acquire Gulfport's Overhead Door Company. They were formally established in 1994 and became Doorways, Inc. Don and Neil managed the office while Kitty and Barbara, the wives of Don and Neil, oversaw the installation and maintenance staff.
