Oddfish Restaurant is a neighborhood seafood restaurant that serves fish and vegetables with a fun and energetic vibe, brought to you by the folks who created Nook and Tavola. Located in Kitsilano, we are now hiring experienced cooks. Employer: ODDFISH KITS LIMITED PARTNERSHIP (o/a Oddfish Restaurant) Position: Cook Vacancies: 2 Job Duties: - Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment. - Prepare ingredients to use. Washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weighing and measuring ingredients. - Cook completes various foods according to our recipe. - Check food while cooking to stir/or turn. - Inspecting food for quality and presentation standards. - Stocking and storing. Monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, and storing food properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage. - Following recipes precisely to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation. - Work with specialized equipment such as deep-fryer and grill etc. - Clean kitchen and work area. - May schedule and/or train kitchen helpers. - Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. Requirement: - Completion of secondary school. - 2+ years of cooking experience required. Wage: $17.62 - $21.00 per hour Work Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week.
