Company operating name: DJ Specialties Business address and location of work: 343 Ring Road Iqaluit, Nunavut X0A 0H0 Title of position: Grocery clerk/ Cashier Job duties: • Bag, box or parcel purchases for customers at stores • Unpack products received by store and count, weigh or sort items • Use barcode scanning equipment to record incoming stock, verify pricing and maintain computerized stock inventory • Price items using stamp or stickers according to price list • Stock shelves and display areas and keep stock clean and in order • Obtain articles for customers from shelf or stockroom • Greet and direct customers to location of articles sought and assist with inquiries • Sweep aisles, dust display racks and perform other general cleaning duties • Operate cash register and computer for electronic commerce transactions • Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products • Calculate total payments received at end of work shift and reconcile with total sales Terms of employment: Temporary – 2-year contract. This is a full-time position at 48 hours per week. Overtime paid after 40 hours per week. Language: basic English Wage: $19.50 per hour Benefits: Extended health benefits after 3 months Subsidized rent $ 350 a month. 10 % store discount on all food items Education and skills requirements: - Some secondary school education. - Previous experience in customer service is an asset.
