Scripture has a purpose!
The purpose of scripture. A person’s last words are often the most important, and in this last letter to his disciple Timothy, Paul was adamant about the purpose and value of God’s word. Paul never wasted time or influence. Obviously he valued Scriptures highly (2 Timothy 4:13). The Bible was written by men who were divinely inspired. By His Spirit, God breathed His holy breath upon the human authors, who penned the precise words He desired. He did not override their personalities or wills but worked through them to produce the Word from God that is without error; thus, it is totally true and trustworthy. Christians who study the Bible and apply what they learn will grow in holiness and avoid many pitfalls in this world. The Old Testament Scriptures point to Christ, revealing the depth of our sin and our need for a Savior. The Gospels reveal Christ as that Savior, and much of the remaining New Testament instructs us how to live out our faith in Him. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth 2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true. The truth will make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It can be used to correct anyone, ourselves included; it teaches us how to do right). 2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. My words follow: This is the same message I try to pass on to all believers; study your Bibles cover to cover. God commands us to study. If you feel the need to improve your reading and comprehension skills, seek help in that area. Their are also audio Bibles available; some are free. What an awesome gift for someone whose eyesight is less than perfect. Please share this with others.
