Business address: 107 Kelly Road, Smooth Rock Falls, ON P0L 2B0 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full-time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Administer medications Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing Conduct specimen collection Ensure infection control Monitor nutritional intake Observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving and sterilizing operative areas Record medication’s therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files Take vital signs Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team Requirements: Education: Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses is required. Experience: A minimum of two years of experience are required. Previous consecutive experience as a Registered Practical Nurse (R.P.N.) within the past 3 years is required for licensing. Be eligible for Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Completion of specialized courses such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid is a strong asset. Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Overtime required, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral and written communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Interpersonal awareness, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Patience. Work setting: Remote location. Language: English is required. Salary: $34.27 per hour + premium pay under certain conditions as per the collective agreement, 57.5 hours per week.
