No Sign up, No Email Required to Post. Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, BC is currently looking for a Kitchen Helper to join our team. Position: Kitchen Helper Reports To – Sous Chefs, Pastry Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Executive Chef Position Summary Kitchen Helper is a key member of the culinary team who is assigned to assist prep tasks for the team as necessary. The Kitchen Helper acts in compliance with all health and safety regulations by ensuring adherence to all sanitary, food safe and dish handling guidelines at all times. Main Job Duties: • Perform daily food prep for events, café and restaurants in a timely manner by washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruit. • Work with other culinary team members to assist where needed. • Set up and manage dessert workstation when required. • Able to do prep of simple food items such as soups, sandwiches and salads for Fix Café. • Clean and sanitize kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, refrigerators, appliances and equipment. • Ensure cleanliness is maintained in the various kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, washing and polishing floors, and removing kitchen garbage and trash. • Receive, unpack and store food items and supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas. • Aid in the transportation and storage of all dishes, equipment, and small wares to ensure they are arranged and organized well. • Strive to uphold a safe working environment and be Health and Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining and improving a safe work environment. • Communicate well with all team members. • Carry out other duties which may be assigned from time to time. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements: · No degree or diploma is required, but minimum completion of Grade 10 is needed. · No experience is required.
