1. Inventory Management Track inventory levels for food, beverages, and related supplies. Maintain accurate records of stock usage, purchases, and waste. Conduct regular inventory counts, typically daily or weekly, to verify stock levels and detect discrepancies. 2. Ordering and Procurement Work with suppliers to order necessary stock and negotiate prices for bulk orders. Ensure timely replenishment of items based on usage and forecasted demand. Coordinate with the purchasing team to source quality items within budget. 3. Cost Control Monitor and analyze food and beverage costs to ensure they remain within budget. Identify opportunities to reduce waste and minimize costs by optimizing stock levels. Develop and implement inventory control procedures to prevent overstocking or stockouts. 4. Quality Assurance Inspect incoming stock for quality and ensure it meets the company’s standards. Keep track of expiration dates and ensure that items are rotated according to a first-in, first-out (FIFO) method. Ensure storage areas are properly maintained, clean, and organized. 5. Data Analysis and Reporting Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify usage trends and adjust ordering patterns. Provide management with reports on stock levels, costs, and any discrepancies. Use software or inventory management systems to track and analyze inventory data. 6. Collaboration with Other Departments Communicate closely with kitchen and service staff to understand inventory needs and address shortages. Work with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting. Coordinate with chefs and managers to plan for special events, holidays, or peak periods that may require additional inventory. 7. Waste Reduction and Sustainability Initiatives Implement strategies to reduce food and beverage waste, such as portion control and recipe standardization. Participate in sustainability initiatives, like recycling and reducing single-use items. 8. Compliance and Safety Ensure that all food and beverage inventory practices comply with health and safety regulations. Train staff on proper inventory handling and storage to maintain safety standards. 9. Technology Management Utilize inventory management software to streamline operations and reduce manual errors.
