Type of Employment: Full time – Seasonal / 7 months-contract Estimated Start Date: End-April 2025 Job Description: Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted Repair cracks and holes Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces Prepare walls for painting (Scraping, Sanding, Caulking) Paint spraying and coating surfaces Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster Maintain all tools and equipment Adhere to workplace safety rules and regulations Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts. May drive a van to and from the work locations Requirements: -Education: Completion of secondary school is preferred. -Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the trade is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required. -Experience using roller painting and brush painting is preferred. -Experience in drywall taping/patching is an asset. -Valid driver’s license is an asset. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, bending, crouching, kneeling, ability to distinguish between colours, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, fast-paced environment Work Site Environment: Outdoors, At heights, Dangerous Personal suitability: Reliability, initiative, flexibility, client focus, effective interpersonal skills, team player Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs.). Language: Basic English is required Salary: $22.00 hourly, 40-45 hours per week. Benefits: Medical benefits and disability insurance is provided. The employer will provide uniform and tools at no cost. Company vehicle supplied for work purposes only. Transportation costs covered if a worker needs to relocate. Accommodation is available at a cost. Important Information: This position requires flexibility in schedule. The worker will be required to work 5 days per week, 8-9 hours per day, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, (sometimes starting at 8:30am or 9:00am), occasional Saturday’s schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
