“Mother of all living” means what? Please read and study all verses diligently using a KJV Bible. I look forward to your comments and replies. Below is what I choose to believe along with my comments and questions. Luke 3:23-38 This is Jesus Christ's lineage through His virgin mother Mary and her father Heli. Notice that the word “begat” is not in this genealogy. Nathan and King David are in Christ's lineage. Thus, the genealogy of Christ in Luke 3:23-38 goes all the way back to Adam through Christ's virgin mother Mary, not Joseph His step father. The genealogy of Christ goes all the way back to Adam through Seth. Eve had a purpose in God's plan to bring forth a savior for all of mankind. Some would say this is Joseph's lineage, but, God through the holy spirit conceived Jesus, so how can Christ's genealogy contain Joseph? Matthew 1:1-20 (Joseph's genealogy) Joseph was clearly the son of Jacob (Matthew 1:16, Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary). This is Joseph's genealogy, not Christ's or Mary's. Solomon and King David are in his lineage. Joseph was not the biological father of Jesus [Again, Matthew 1:18-20, 23-25]. Luke 3:29 includes Levi, the Levitical priest line. Luke 3:31 includes David, the King line. The genealogy of Jesus includes these 2; thus He is King of kings, Lord of lords. There doesn't appear to be anyone of the Levitical priest line in Josephs' lineage. Christ had a Levite and a King in His lineage through His mother Mary. Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Acts 13:23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: [It was God's will that a Saviour (Jesus Christ) would come through King David. This is also known as the key of David (the true Christ's genealogy). Again, Christ's lineage goes all the way back to Adam/Eve, umbilical cord to umbilical cord through King David and his son Nathan. See Genesis 5 and Luke 3]. According to the above two verses in Acts, God's plan to save mankind was provided through this woman, (“Eve”, through her offspring, umbilical cord to umbilical cord, which includes Jesus Christ and King David). “The only Way” to eternal life is by believing in Jesus Christ. I choose to believe that this is why she, “Eve”, is called the “mother of all living”. If you are not a believer in and follower of Christ, you are not alive spiritually, you are spiritually dead. I do not believe she was the first woman on earth. How did all the races come from one woman? Please explain; I most definitely want to hear what different people have to say about this question. Connect the dots; get a more complete picture through study of your Bible completely. Don't make a determination based on one verse only.
