Business address: 75 Yorkville Ave., Toronto, ON M5R 1B8 Work location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Maintain records of food costs, invoices, sales, and inventory Analyze operating costs and other data Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen workers Develop new menus featuring culturally relevant and authentic Italian dishes alongside Chef Instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods Order food and kitchen supplies and receive and store orders Arrange for equipment and building repairs Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs Ensure food meets quality standards Leading/instructing individuals Inspect kitchens and food service areas Clean kitchen and work areas Coordinate timing of dish completion with other cooks Label and store or dispose of all unused items Perform duties in accordance with Ontario Health and Safety Standards Conduct Line Checks and Pre-shift meetings prior to service Foster an atmosphere of respectful communication, cooperation and positivity among all team members Requirements: - Education: Completion of high school is required - Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food industry is required.
