Business address: 37 Gill Road, RR5, Elliotvale, Prince Edward Island, C0A 1T0 Work location: Same as above and various client’s locations across the Province of Prince Edward Island Type of Employment: Full Time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites Survey building locations and levels Instruct apprentices Supervise other workers May prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs Requirements Education: Completion of secondary school is required. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate is required OR completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program will help to qualify Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Handling heavy loads, Large workload, Physically demanding, Tight deadlines, Work with minimal supervision. Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent written and oral communication, Judgement, Reliability, Team player, Values and ethics, Punctuality. Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Language: English is required. Important Information. This position will require flexibility on schedule. The employee will work from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
